Candle Burning Basics

When lighting your candle for the first time it is important to let it burn one hour for each inch of the jar's diameter. (For instance a jar 3 inches wide should burn for 3 hours). Soy wax has a "memory" and you want to allow the wax to melt to the edge of the jar. This will create a full "melt pool" and will increase the scent throw.

BLUE WILLOW CANDLES SAMPLE JAR: BURN FOR 2 HOURS

Do not burn your candle for more than four hours at a time. After the initial burn keep the wick trimmed to 1/4 inch.

Soybean wax is an all-natural product. Occasionally "frosting'" may occur on the wax and some discoloration when burning. This is normal and will not affect the burn or fragrance capabilities of your beautiful, natural, clean burning soy candle.

Don't Blow It!  When extinguishing your candle gently push the wick into the melted wax and lift it back up into the center of your jar.  You can use a flat edge screwdriver or tip of a butterknife. This will eliminate the majority of the black smoke and the after-burn smell you get after you blow it out.

Blue Willow Candles approximate burn time per jar is as follows:

12.5 oz. Jar: 60-70 hours. 4 oz. Sampler Jar: 17-20 hours

My wish is that you enjoy your candle as much as I enjoyed making it for you! :)
